Irish Water and Cork County Council can confirm that, following advice from the HSE, the Boil Water Notice imposed on the Whitegate Regional Water Supply on Saturday, 13 February 2016, has now been lifted with immediate effect. Residents on the water supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
The Boil Water was imposed as a pre-cautionary measure following the recent poor weather conditions but ongoing testing and monitoring of the supply since last Saturday has shown that it is now safe for public consumption. The Whitegate Regional Water Supply serves a population of approximately 10,000 people.
Irish Water wishes to thank residents in the area for their patience while we worked in partnership with Cork County Council to return normal supply.
