Over 550 people have turned up to show their solidarity with workers at the Vita Cortex plant in Cork.
32 former staff members have been staging a sit in protest at the Kinsale Road factory since mid-December when they were let go and heard they would NOT receive their full redundancy payments.
Vita Cortex claims the money they’re owed is frozen in an account which is now controlled by NAMA.
Local TD’s and Councillors were among the crowd today
they included Labour TD Ciarán Lynch. He said he will raise the matter of redundancy payments when the Dail resumes after its Christmas and New Year break
