West Cork Labour TD Michael McCarthy has secured vital funding from the Department of Education and Skills to repair a dangerous school wall.

Deputy McCarthy said, “The Department of Education and Skills have agreed to provide €12,500 to repair the dangerous perimeter wall at Scoil Phádraig Naofa, Dunmanway.
“I am delighted that I was able to secure the funding necessary to ensure that crucial repairs are carried out on this wall as soon as possible. The wall had deteriorated considerably in the last few months and there were very real concerns in relation to its condition and the safety of the young children attending the school. It was in serious danger of collapsing.
“I am delighted that I was able to work with my colleague the Minister for Education, Jan O’Sullivan TD, to secure the funds necessary to remedy this very serious situation.
