The Cork City region has experienced better weather over-night and into today (Monday). Met Éireann is forecasting that this improved weather will continue through to Wednesday when the next weather system is forecasted to impact on the region.
The ESB has advised that they are currently discharging from Inniscarra Dam at the rate of 225 cumecs and that they will continue at this rate for the next 24 hours. The ESB will be keeping the discharge level under continuous review in consultation with all agencies.
The Carrigrohane Road has been re-opened to traffic today, but the Lee Road remains closed. Traffic diversions are in place.
The Council is continuing to inform the public that a number of other roads continue to suffer from localised flooding, and that further heavy rainfall may increase the risk of localised flooding.
The City Council is continuing to liaise closely with the ESB as well as An Garda Síochána, Cork County Council, Met Éireann and the Emergency Services.
