Cllr Tim Lombard, Mayor of the County of Cork leads the tribute to Member of Cork County Council Michael Donegan. The County Mayor stated that he had the privilege to serve with Michael on Cork County Council from 2003 to date. Michael was a man who was very passionate about North Cork. He was very quiet in the chamber but he proved that you don’t have to be roaring from the rafters to get work done. He was greatly admired by the Members, Management and the staff of Cork County Council. “I had the pleasure of being in his company at the opening of Milford Community Hall only a few months ago. The respect that the local community had for Michael was very obvious. In fact I recall quite clearly how he spoke passionately about Milford and the great community up there that day. It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Michael last night. The void caused by Michael’s sad passing will be impossible to replace in Cork County Council. I would like to extend my sympathy to his wife and family at this sad time.”
