Clonakilty Mayor Cionnaith Ó Súilleabháin recently launched a new website www.Clonakilty.Club on which he encourages all local voluntary organisations, charities, schools, etc. to register their contact details. The website is a joint venture with Matthew Harte, web designer-programmer from Shannonvale.
The Mayor said:
“This is a completely free resource that will be very beneficial for locals and visitors alike. Quite simply, it will be a directory of local groups and organisations with their contact details, websites, etc. all together in one place, and easily accessed.
I encourage all local voluntary, sporting and community groups in Clonakilty and surrounding areas, to click and put up their organisations details.
This can literally be done in less than two minutes on a simple on-line form on the site, and once verified, the details will be up on the site for the world to see.
Clonakilty and its surrounding communities are bursting with all sorts of vibrant groups and organisations which are the backbone of community life. Having this directory will make it very easy for everyone to contact any organisation they want.
Listing your group is totally free of charge and I want to thank Matthew Harte for agreeing to donate his skills, time and expertise to this project.
The site has been live for a few weeks now and already over 60 groups are already listed”.
