Cork is rightly famous for it’s maverick sounds and IndieCork is proud to announce a rich and diverse music programme at the Crane Lane Theatre over 8 nights from October 4th to 11th. Programmed by IndieCork committee members Tony Langlois and Eileen Hogan – this independent music showcase aims to be the mini South by Southwest and an opportunity to discover new and emerging music and artists.The best of visiting local and Indie bands will play for free (and ‘till late) throughout the week.
This year, renowned local promoters Luchador and Ping Pong will showcase exceptional Cork music on Monday and Wednesday nights. Highlights also include Hip Hop outfit Spekulativ Fiktion on Monday, as will new trio Crevice, performing on Wednesday night. Local legend Stevie G (and friends) will be bringing ‘Soul Power’ to the Lane on Thursday and on Saturday fans will be treated to Wiggle’s magnificent reggae vibrations.
Just like the rest of the IndieCork Festival programme this line up has something different and surprising every night, and is the only place to feel the pulse of the rebel city. About IndieCork
IndieCork Festival is set to present it’s third festival in two and a half years, October 4th to 11th. The festival, which launched in April 2013, is delighted to have reached this milestone, and has an action packed programme of film, talks, screenings and a much enhanced music section this year. The Festival takes place at The Gate Cinema, Firkin Crane and the Crane Lane Theatre.
IndieCork has staked it’s area of expertise as a festival of independent film, music and media arts, and this year’s programme intensifies those interests. Another marked area of development, is the festival’s collaborative approach; as it partners with several creative promoters, artists, filmmakers, musicians and producers.

Supported by the independent Rising Sons Brewery for it’s third year, the collaboration of IndieCork and Rising Sons is a fitting independent match. Said Mick Hannigan, Festival Committee member and film programmer: ‘Rising Sons and IndieCork have a very similar approach to independent production; it’s about how we join forces to create something new and interesting, that is sustainable, local and international. In these times, we found that having diverse and creative ways of inventing what you do, is key to everything’.
