“Local Labour TD Michael McCarthy has welcomed news on progress to connect Belgooly to the mains supply in Riverstick.”
Quite normal, but then it goes on to say
“…In December 2014, Uisce Éireann commenced work on a 500m section of the watermain from Riverstick towards Belgooly in conjunction with the influent pipeline to the Riverstick Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade project. These Advanced Works were completed in January 2015.”
Hold on! “Uisce Éireann“! what is that? is the normal name of Irish Water now too toxic to be associated with? would it dilute a positive press release into a negative one, yes I think
This is not the only example, other politicians have slowly started to use the Gaeilge name, and are hoping their are exempt from criticism as the use of Gaeilge is generally to be promoted in Ireland, thanks to the position of Irish being the supposed main language according to the 1937 constitution.
Fairplay meanwhile to a private company who have the domain name http://uisce-eireann.ie/ “one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of water saving and water management products”
