Billy Twomey’s tremendous run of good form continued at the weekend in Geneva. The highlight of the 5* international show was the Grand Prix with €70,000 on offer to the winner. Billy has been knocking on the door for the last few weeks, with major placings at all the biggest shows around the world but an outright win had been elusive until the weekend. Tinka’s Serenade has been jumping fantastic of late and it was only a matter of time before she picked up a big win.
The Worlds best riders were competing in Geneva and the competition was outstanding, which makes this win all the better. Standing second to Billy and Tinka’s Serenade was Germany’s best Marcus Ehning. Billy Comments “I am delighted to have such a great win at a major competition. Nothing is given away at these 5* competitions with the worlds best riders competing ,and Tinka has been winning consistently for the last few months, its great to get one in the bag” The current run of good form cements Billy’s position as number 1 in Ireland and Great Britain and number 7 in the World. Billy already has his place at the World Cup Final in Leipzig in March secured.
Billy would like to thank Sue and Edd Davies for giving him the ride on such brilliant horses as Tinka’s Serenade, along with all his other owners, and his fantastic portfolio of sponsors and supporters, without whom it would not be possible to compete at such a high level.
