Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is delighted to announce details of the Extra Early Morning Commuter Trains, which have been laid on to operate from Cobh and Midleton to Kent Station, Cork for this year’s Cork City Marathon on Monday, 1st June 2015.
One of the Extra Early Morning Trains will depart Midleton at 07.45hrs and serve Carrigtwohill (07.52hrs), Glounthaune (07.57hrs) and Littleisland (08.00hrs) before arriving in Kent Station, Cork at 08.08hrs.
The second Extra Early Morning Train will depart Cobh at 07.30hrs and serve Rushbrooke (07.33hrs), Carrigaloe (07.36hrs), Fota (07.40hrs), Glounthaune (07.44hrs) and Littleisland (07.47hrs) before arriving in Kent Station at 07.54hrs.
Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is responding to demand for an early morning train from Midleton and Cobh to Cork for the participants of the 2015 Cork City Marathon. Everyone wishing to support their runners, charities or just want to be at the event.
Ray Foley, Station Manager, Cork said: “Families, individuals and friends of the runners coming from East Cork can now take advantage of the Free Parking being offered by Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail at its East Cork Commuter Stations for 2015 – i.e. Midleton, Carrigtwohill, Glounthaune and Littleisland Stations – and avoid the traffic congestion and parking problems being implemented in Cork City for the Marathon on Monday, 1st June 2015.”
