Strict visitor restrictions are being introduced with immediate effect at Cork University Hospital (CUH) in an effort to protect patients and staff and prevent further spread of Influenza A H1N1 (Swine Flu).
Visiting times are restricted to 7.30pm – 8.30pm. One visitor is allowed per patient with strictly no children allowed to visit. Visitors are asked to please respect these restricted visiting times and the security staff at the hospital who are ensuring the restrictions are adhered to. Visitors are also advised that they must use the Spirigel (alcohol gel) supplied as they enter and leave the hospital.
Tony McNamara, CEO, CUH said “We would urgently appeal to people who have been affected by flu, or anyone who has had contact with persons with flu like symptoms, not to visit the hospital. Patient care is our priority and we would urge the public to help hospital staff keep the current Influenza at a minimum as it can further debilitate those who are already sick in hospital”.
