Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Coolfadda, Bandon, County Cork last night
The two vehicle collision occurred on the R586 at Coolfadda shortly before 6pm. A man, 30 years, driver of one of the cars, suffered fatal injuries. He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the second car, a woman aged 37 years, was also taken to Cork University Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
The road was currently last night to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions were in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who was travelling on the R586 at Coolfadda between 5.40pm and 6pm to contact them at Bandon Garda Station on 023 8852200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
