Visiting restrictions due to an increased number of Influenza cases at Cork’s Mercy University Hospital (MUH) will remain in place and will be reviewed again early tomorrow.
While the situation regarding the number of influenza cases at the hospital is improving MUH will continue to restrict all hospital visits, with the exception of the children’s ward and critical care areas.
The hospital has invoked visitor restrictions in the interest of patient safety. The hospital wishes to thank the public for their cooperation with the restrictions.
MUH will deal with exceptional cases on an individual basis.
People with flu-like symptoms are advised to telephone or visit their GPs, in the first instance, rather than presenting at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
