Tidy Towns
Carrigaline Tidy Towns are doing a wonderful job planting summer bedding throughout the town. Last Saturday morning a large team of volunteers were in action in the town centre painting, planting and litter picking. Two full sized murals planned for the gable end of ‘Carry Out’ and the Gable wall of Wylie House still remain to be painted. The pottery sculpture which is made will be put in position during the month. A train sculpture which is being made at present will be located beside the embankment on Bothar Guidel during the summer. Tidy Towns has identified a number of extra locations that are suitable for gardens, they would be delighted to hear from any individuals, organisations or a company that may wish to adopt or sponsor any one of these projects. New volunteers are welcome at HQ Wednesdays 7.30pm and Saturdays 9.30am or anytime if they wish to work on their own.

Men’s Shed
This Monday the Men’s Shed walking group walked from Busteeds Cross through the countryside along the Upper Ballea Road to Sheehan’s Cross in Meadstown and back. They have a different route planned for next Monday, they meet at the Shed at 11.00am. Fifteen members of the Men’s Shed choir met up in the open air on the green by the pond, Waterpark on Tuesday morning last. This was the first time they met in person this year. Under Musical Director Liz Scott Hall they practiced some numbers they hope to perform when the regulations allow. The choir and other members are looking forward to using the Shed when conditions allow. New members welcome contact Roger Morrissey 087 220 3547.
Festival
Planning for the Carrigaline Community Festival is progressing and a date will be announced in the weeks ahead. At present all the planned events will be outdoors. All sections of the community are invited to be part of this festival.
