The Cork group of Social Democrats branches have launched a survey for business owners based in Cork City and County, calling on the business community to share their experiences of keeping their businesses afloat during the pandemic.
The launch of the Cork SocDems Business Attitudes Survey follows their online event, Resilience, Recover, and Renewal – Supporting Business Through Covid Challenges, which was hosted via Zoom and featured Richard Jacob of Idaho Café, the new ONE Movement trade union, and Cork City Local Enterprise Office.
The survey asks business owners in Cork what their experiences of operating during lockdown and the pandemic overall have been like, including for their production line, staff, personal wellbeing, and work-life balance. It also asks participants about their awareness and experience of support schemes offered at both local and national government levels.
A statement from the Cork SocDems said
“The Social Democrats are committed to supporting and acting on behalf of Cork-based business, from sole traders and freelancers, to small & medium enterprises, and larger enterprises also,” said Elaine Hickey, Chair of the SocDems’ Cork South Central branch. “Launching this survey is the latest effort on our part to listen to our city and county’s business community, fully understand their experiences and concerns during the last year, and support them accordingly. Using our survey results, we wish to update our local business policy, and publish a report later this year as a result of this consultation.”
