A “primary health care centre” has been officially opened in Schull.
Minister of State at the Department of Health with responsibility for Primary Care Alex White TD, travelled to West Cork yesterday afternoon.
The Centre covers the Mizen Peninsula spanning Goleen, Crookhaven, Schull, Ballydehob, and Durrus.
The centre is one of many across Ireland and is a single location where various health professionals work together under the one roof.
The Schull centre has two GPs, two practice nurses, and support staff.
The HSE services provided include
- Public Health and Community Nursing,
- Dietetics,
- Physiotherapy,
- Speech and Language Therapy,
- Occupational Therapy,
- Podiatry,
- Community Dental Clinic.
