The Lord Mayor’s annual Civic awards took place in City Hall last night.
Cllr Catherine Clancy (Labour) presented six Corkconians with awards for
their contributions to to the City.
Among the names were
Camogie Expert Mary Newman
Journalist Deirdre O’Reilly for her charity work
Declan Kidney for his contribution to Rugby
Eamonn Ryan for his dedication to Ladies Football.
Pamela O’Connor for service to the Cystic Fibrosis Campaign.
and…
Arthur Leahy a pioneer in the Co-operative movement and campaigner for the
LGBT Community.
Outgoing Lord Mayor Catherine Clancy said former head coach of the Ireland
rugby team, and Corkman, Declan Kidney
“was an easy selection”!
