Cork County Council is to review inappropriate speed limits, and a
target will be SOME rural roads where the default 80 kilometres is too
fast.
The Department of Transport’s “Speed limit review Body” published a
NATIONAL report last November, and here in Cork… the County Council
is set to “fill in the gaps” with its own review this SEPTEMBER.
It will look at inconsistency and inappropriateness.
Fianna Fail Cllr Seamus McGrath says there are a number of smaller
roads where limits should be REDUCED and – on the other hand – there
are certain sections of national roads where speed limits should be
INCREASED
