A fundraising concert for a well known Cork Journalist will take place in
City Hall on Easter Sunday.
43 year old Deirdre O’Reilly reported for the Evening Echo but suffered a
massive stroke in December and needs intensive rehabilitation.
She’s been left with paralysis of the right side, and speech
difficulties. Her home in Bandon will also have to be adapted.
The gala concert is being organsied by colleagues in the Echo and will take
place on Easter Sunday, April 20th, at 8pm.
Performers are giving their services for free and include: sopranos Cara
O’Sullivan and Mary Hegarty, Musicians Evelyn Grant and Gerry Kelly, the
Cork Garda Male Voice Choir,Barrack Street Band, Saint Finbarr’s Pipe
Band, and Kilmeen Drama Group, which Deirdre was a member of.
Singer Karen Underwood says Deirdre was known for her charity work
