Michael Flatley, will be the Grand Marshal of this year’s Cork City
St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The “Lord of the Dance” – who has a house in Castlehyde, near Fermoy –
will lead the parade on Monday March 17 at 1pm.
The City Centre parade route will cover the South Mall, Grand Parade,
St. Patrick’s Street, and will finish on Merchant’s Quay.
Up to 3-thousand people will take part in the parade, and 100-thousand
people will visit the City.
Michael Flatley says he is “truly honoured” to have been chosen as
Grand Marshal and referred to Cork as “a thriving city”
The parade on the Monday of the long weekend is part of the larger
three day St. Patrick’s Festival
organised by Cork City Council from March 15th to 17th
Lord Mayor Catherine Clancy says Michael Flatley is a “legend” worldwide
