Newmarket Motors today announced that it has entered in to a
sponsorship deal with Presentation Brothers College (PBC) Junior and
Senior Cup Rugby teams.
The announcement was made this morning by Sean Browne of Newmarket
Motors and Damien Philpott of PBC at the school grounds on Western
Road.
Speaking on behalf of Newmarket Motors, Sean Browne, Dealer Principal
commented: “We are delighted to support PBC Rugby. We admire their
continued passion and interest in developing Irish competitive sport
while encouraging the boys to be the best that they can be. We are
thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of the Senior and Junior
cup 2014 and we wish them every success. With hard work and
determination they will realize their goals and we look forward to
watching the growth and success of these young teams. ”
The college was founded by the Presentation Brothers in 1878 and has a
strong Rugby tradition with past pupils including Ronan O’Gara, Peter
O’Mahoney and Simon Zebo.
According to Damien Philpott PBC, “There is a huge commitment to rugby
within the faculty, with staff and pupils engaging in training every
day. We also have the support of more than 30 volunteers from within
the body of parents and friends of Presentation College. This
partnership with Newmarket Motors will help us to further support the
teams in the year ahead and we look forward to working with Volkswagen
Commercials in our drive towards excellence and high performance on
the rugby field.”
The school runs sixteen teams per year and there are over 365 boys
playing rugby at a variety of levels in the college.
