We previously spoke with the Cork Screen Commissioner now the Commission is back in the News. As part of its commitment to building the indigenous Screen Industries in Cork and promoting the City & County as a prime filming destination, Cork Screen Commission is holding a series of events for industry professionals during the Cork Film Festival including a familiarisation trip for producers and directors visiting locations such as the North side of the City and Camden Fort. The events run at various locations in Cork city, see the Festival programme for full details or visit www.corkscreencommission.com. The 58th Cork Film Festival takes place from today (November 9th) to 17th.
On Thursday, 14th November & Friday 15th November, D&P Multimedia Products present a Camera and Post Production Masterclass in partnership with Canon Ireland, Cork Screen Commission, Studio 5108 and Filmbase, Dublin. These are high-end practical, yet creative, workshops for experienced filmmakers, where participants will be involved in shooting; editing and grading live action scenes. The Workshops take place in Studio 5108, Monahan Road, Cork.
On Thursday, 14th November Industry professional, Eugene McCrystal, will give a workshop at Triskel on “The Art of the Grade” which will explore the role of colourist and the importance of a good grade on both Shorts & Features and will advise on spend v quality when budgets are tight. With over 20 years experience, Eugene has worked for top international post-production companies as well as setting up Egg and EMC facilities. If you would like to network and make professional connections in a fun and relaxed atmosphere then join this speed-networking event at Thursday, November 14th at 7pm in Cork Opera House.
Finally, visiting producers and directors to the Cork Film Festival are invited to join a special familiarisation trip to stunning locations in and around Cork on Saturday, 16th November. The trip is aimed at visiting professionals who may be interested in finding out what great, unique locations are in, and near the City for possible future productions including, the newly reopened Camden Fort. Booking is by means of a sign-up sheet available in the Cork Film Festival Office or though Cork Screen Commission.
