Incredible 33,000/1 Shot Taken Out By Rebel
A County Cork punter is in dreamland after receiving a stunning five-figure cash injection all because they took a simple €2 flutter on their lucky numbers on Friday night.
The anonymous customer placed the €2 accumulator in a BoyleSports shop in the county on Friday and picked four numbers to come out in the main EuroMillions draw.
They were up against massive odds of 33,000/1 on 22, 33, 44 and 50 all dropping out but when 33 and 44 came out first, their chances had taken a sudden boost.
The unlucky number 13 looked to have scuppered their hopes as it rolled out third, but 22 and 50 were the final two balls to roll out of the machine, triggering the celebrations in the south west.
The incredible stroke of luck allowed them to return to the shop the next day to exchange their €2 betslip for a mega €66,002.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Our customer down in Cork has proved in the most stylish way possible that the big wins don’t always require big stakes and it’s a jaw-dropping sum of cash to pick up from a €2 wager. Fair play to them for aiming so high and we hope they enjoy splashing out.”
