Around 2-thousand people attended the 8th Annual “Cork Pride Parade” on
Sunday in the City.
It marks the end of a week long L-G-B-T festival which was worth an
estimated “half million euro” to the local economy.
Organizers say “diversity in society is something to be celebrated”, and
the theme of this year’s festival was ‘20 years proud’
marking the 20th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality
The Parade started on Grand Parade at 3 o’clock, went along the South Mall,
Merchants Quay, Patricks Street, and finished back on Grand Parade.
Fine Gael TD Jerry Buttimer was one of the many people enjoying the
atmosphere.
