Consumer confidence in frozen beef burgers has still NOT recovered
from the horse-meat scandal in January
The results of a study by The Food Safety Authority of Ireland
were published this week.
It found more than half of those who used to buy frozen beef burgers,
are “less likely” to do so now
50 per cent of those polled said they were now more conscious about food
safety
and….
45 per cent said they spent more time reading labels,
to see the ingredients AND country or origin.
The FSAI says progress had been made with enhanced controls,
and sophisticated tools such as DNA testing now being
part of the food safety chain.
