Raise your Pulses on St. Patrick’s Day!

The hugely-acclaimed show Pulses of Tradition returns to Cork for a very special St. Patrick’s Day 2018 performance. Having played to tens of thousands since 2013, Pulses of Tradition takes to the stage once again at Triskel Christchurch at 5pm on March 17th for what will be the ultimate family friendly, cultural experience. Featuring internationally recognised musicians, singers and dancers, this outstanding production takes the audience on a thoroughly engaging journey through time, showcasing the rich, traditional music and dance heritage of Cork and beyond.
Pulses of Tradition is a truly authentic and exhilarating insight into Irish culture. It embraces traditions of the past in the context of 21st century Ireland, and features some of the country’s best loved and respected traditional Irish musicians and champion Irish dancers. Some of the musicians involved include renowned Inchigeela accordion player Richard Lucey, Bishopstown native, and highly respected singer/songwriter Eoin Coughlan, the wonderful voice of Elaine Cormican, also a member of the group Líadan, and regular John Spillane collaborators, Nigel Grufferty (fiddle) and Brian Morrissey (banjo/bodhran/whistles). Brian is also the creator and producer of Pulses of Tradition, and has assembled a fantastic team of performers, who push out the creative boundaries to bring a contemporary flair to the production, whilst remaining true to Ireland’s rich musical and dance heritage. As a result, Pulses of Tradition appeals to both locals and tourists alike.
The incredible dancers on show include regular Riverdance performers Brian Shinners and Ciara Callanan-Ryan, along with Amie Landers, who is one of the most in-demand dancers and teachers in Munster.
The show delves into the history of Irish music, singing and dance, in an educational and entertaining fashion, celebrating how it has evolved through the ages. This is facilitated in part by the use of Triskel’s cinema screen, projecting beautiful imagery and live HD camera images of the performers up close and personal!
The stunning and intimate setting of Triskel Christchurch in Cork is another reason to attend Pulses of Tradition on St. Patrick’s Day. This beautiful 18th century building was a former church and it has retained most of its original features, bringing a magical atmosphere to the occasion.
The performance takes place at 5pm on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March in Triskel Christchurch. Tickets for Pulses of Tradition are priced at €20 for Adults and €18 conc.
