Lucky Corkman Patrick O’Flynn won €23,000 cash when he got the once-in-a-lifetime chance to appear on the National Lottery Winning Streak game show on RTE Onelast Saturday (10th March) – just three weeks after his sister-in-law was on the same programme!
Patrick, from Mahon, Co. Cork was the only family member who didn’t make it to support his sister-in-law, Melissa Monaghan from Rochestown, when she appeared on Winning Streak on the 17th February due to work commitments. Melissa – who won a tidy €27,000 on the show – made a return to the Winning Streak studio last Saturday to support Patrick.
Patrick revealed his youngest daughter Stacey (7) predicted he would be selected to appear on Winning Streak after he posted his scratch card with the three lucky stars on it a couple of weeks back.
The 43-year-old sales assistant, who works at the off licence in Ryan’s Supervalu in Cork city, is a huge Everton Football Club fan and, despite the clubs misfortunes on the pitch, he never misses a game on the television.
With his Winning Streak winnings Patrick and all his family are going on a two week holiday to Lanzarote in July for a neighbours wedding, which was already booked, so he says he will be able to get everyone suited and booted for the occasion.
Patrick has been married to Deborah for the past 11 years and they have five children: Sarah (20), Dylan (14), Stephen (11), Patrick Junior (9) and Stacey, all of whom cheered him on from their seats in the RTE audience for the second time in a month! Along with them, was Patrick’s mum, Mary, three brothers Alan, James and George and of course, his sister in law, Melissa.
A total of €120,000 was won on the game show this week. Winning Streak scratch cards offer a range of great instant cash prizes plus a 3-star prize, which gives players the opportunity to enter a draw to appear on the gameshow. Five players are selected to appear on the Winning Streak TV Gameshow and win up to €500,000 instantly on the Grand Prize Wheel.
Winning Streak scratch cards also offer players the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime luxury cruise for two worth €5,000. To enter the draw for the Luxury Cruise for two, entrants must collect the 3 letters S-E-A from the stub portion of their Winning Streak scratch card and send those into the National Lottery in the special grey stub envelope which are available from National Lottery retail sales agents. There winners for this week’s cruise is Helen McCarthy from Killarney, Co. Kerry.
The Winning Streak TV Gameshow is based solely on chance and there is no skill involved. To enter, players must submit a 3-star ticket in one of the special 3-star envelopes, which are available from all National Lottery Retail Sales Agents. On the Thursday preceding the gameshow, one hundred 3-star entries are drawn randomly in a preliminary draw that takes place under strict security controls in National Lottery offices. From these 100 entries, the five players for the following show are drawn and their names are featured on the gameshow.
