Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Health, Jim Daly, has confirmed that funding has been made available to those on existing group water schemes in West Cork.
‘After speaking with my Ministerial colleague Eoghan Murphy, I can confirm that there has been an allocation of €150,000 for existing group water schemes for Cork’.
The allocation is being provided under measure two of the Rural Water Programme 2018. Under measure two, up to 85% of funding can be applied for meaning that applicants can get up to a maximum of €7,650 per house to enhance their existing group water scheme.
Minister Daly is urging people in Cork South West who are on group water schemes to avail of this grant, which will be administrated by Cork County Council, through the rural water liaison officer.
Concluding Minister Daly said, ‘There are still many people in West Cork still on group water schemes and I am pleased that Minister Murphy is making this grant available to allow those to enhance their existing group water scheme. For more information applicants should contact their water liaison officer within Cork County Council. ’
