An Irish start-up has received a New Year’s boost with an investment of €200,000 by Dan Kiely, one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs.
Dan Kiely – who sold his company, Voxpro, last August for an estimated €150 million – has become the first high-profile entrepreneur to invest in Abodoo, a careers site that promotes remote and flexible working.

Abodoo launched in September 2017, and is based in Gorey, Co. Wexford. Since its launch, it has established partnerships with leading employers offering remote and flexible career opportunities nationwide.
Abodoo plans to expand to the UK and other European markets this year. The company has attracted support from the IDA and open eir, in addition to Mr. Kiely.
Vanessa Tierney, co-founder of Abodoo, said: “As we enter our first full year of trading, we are delighted to announce this investment of €200,000 by Dan Kiely.

Ms. Tierney said the immediate priority for Abodoo in 2018 is to encourage more people to register with the site to access the flexible careers on offer.
