Cork University Hospital (CUH) Charity is to hold its first ever Lip Sync Battle to raise vital funds for the hospital. The event takes place on Friday, November 3rd at the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs from 7pm (Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 8pm).
Over 12 groups of skilled medical professionals, along with facilities and services staff from CUH and Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH), will put their lip-syncing skills to the test and battle it out for the best act title. Florence and the Machine, Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin are just three performers to be represented on the night, and guest MC is comedian, Alan Shortt. Audience tickets are priced €30 per person, available by emailing holly@cuhcharity.ie or by calling 021 4234529.
Each of the 12 acts has committed to raising a minimum of €1,000 for CUH. Funds raised will go towards refurbishment and purchasing of vital medical equipment for the Bladder Cancer, Neurology, Cardiac and Social Services Units in CUH.
Speaking about the event, Miriam Forde, CUH Charity said: “Lip Sync Battles are taking Ireland by storm. It is fantastic to see staff from a wide range of departments across Nursing, Medical and Support Services staff in CUH, including Emergency Services, Maternity Services, Social Work Services, Catering, Portering, Administration and Nursing Co-ordination getting behind the event and giving their performances 110%.”
Funds raised will go a long way towards enhancing patient care at CUH. We are all looking forward to a night of fantastic entertainment and a sell-out performance at the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs.”
