A creative start-up company based in Carrigaline, County Cork was featured
at a major showcase of new companies with high growth potential in Dublin
last week.

The Delicious Gluten Free Bakery, which makes freshly baked gluten free
cakes and breads, was established by Mary and Michael O’Callaghan.

Speaking at the Enterprise Ireland showcase at the Mansion House in Dublin,
the Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin has praised the ingenuity of the
O’Callaghan’s.

He commented, “I was very much impressed with the O’Callaghan’s and the
range of artisan cakes and breads they have on offer. They use all local
products and ingredients and provide a valuable service for celiacs. Mary
and Michael are a shining example of people who have faced up to the
economic challenges and used their imagination and hard work to set up
their own business.

“This is this kind of ingenuity that we need to foster, in order to
encourage economic growth and job creation in the areas that need it most.
The company has already been recognised for the quality of their products
with a range of food awards and it is clear that it has great potential to
grow further and play a significant role in the local economy in
Carrigaline and Cork,” Deputy Martin said.
