Cork City WFC make their second trip to Dublin in three days as they travel to the Morton Stadium this today – 6th of September – to face Shelbourne LFC in their rearranged Continental Tyre’s Women’s League Cup Semi-Final with a 7.30pm kick off.
The game comes swiftly off City’s 3-0 defeat on Sunday, looking back on the defeat Cork City WFC manager Frank Kelleher had this to say: “We played well for the most part against UCD. We had a number of chances that we didn’t take and it cost us. At this level you must convert your chances. We keep learning and keep moving forward. We must keep the belief in ourselves strong at all stages of the game Wednesday.”
Looking forward to Wednesday’s game he had this to say: “League Cup semi-final in Dublin against Shelbourne. Really looking forward to this fixture. A great opportunity for the players to get to a national final. We are playing against the holders of the competition. Shelbourne have had a great Champions League campaign and will be very tough to beat. It is a one off game and we have to focus on ourselves and perform to our very best. At this point players know what’s at stake.”
Cork City WFC have no injury concerns going into today’s game.
Cork City WFC will host Peamount United this Saturday 9th of August at Bishopstown in the quarter final of the FAI Continental Tyres Senior Cup with a 5.30pm kick off.
