Editorial:
Councils across Ireland are voting themselves out of existence as their race to become like the Seanad.
Cork County Council already dumped its waste collection business.
It will lose water to “Irish Water”, and now it has lost its role in waste collection permits.
A QUANGO called the “National Waste Collection Permit Office” now handles applications.
It is located in Co Offaly, and based on its address and email it appears to be attached to Offaly County Council.
What will be the next function to be lost by Cork County Council?
