A two-hour National Geographic documentary filmed off the Old Head of Kinsale at the wreck of the Lusitania will be broadcast on Sunday
The 1.5 million euro programme was filmed last August by a Cork and foreign crew.
It will attempt to explain why the Cunard ship sank so quickly in 1915 and what caused a second explosion, after the liner was torpedoed by a German U-Boat.
An 83 year old American businessman who legally owns the wreck gave the go-ahead for the documentary,
