Co Waterford’s Peter Moloney scored his first win in this years Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league, taking victory in the fourth round of the series at Maryville Stables, Carrigaline, Co Cork.
Moloney, from Colligan near Dungarvan, guided the Teresa Conway-owned Arbutus Ohio to a double clear round in 37.82 seconds, to take the winners prize and all important league points.
Tralee’s Maura Counihan continued her excellent run of form by filling three of the top seven places. Counihan grabbed runner-up spot with Killerisk Minnie, and also filled third place aboard Dicksgrove Silver. She rounded off an excellent day by taking seventh place with Coral Du Carel with whom she had been holding third place on the league table before the action at Maryville.
Peter Moloney also took fourth place with one of four double clear rounds aboard Five Star Quality, while Tipperary’s Darragh Ryan finished fifth with Apache VD Lange Vos.
Tholm Keane slotted into sixth place with Future Storm while Timmy Doyle completed the top eight with JS Bucks.
The next round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league will take place at Ballinamona in Waterford on June 12th.
