Gardaí are investigating a serious injury road traffic collision which
occurred in Bantry Co. Cork shortly after 4am this morning.
A male aged in his early 30s was seriously injured following a single
car collision at Bridge Street
He was taken to Bantry General Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
As of 5.this evening the road has reopened to traffic following a
forensic examination of the scene.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses who were in the Bridge Street area
of Bantry between 3.30 a.m. and 5 a.m. this morning to contact them.
It is possible that some people heading home perhaps from a Saturday
night out might have valuable information.
