Parcel delivery company DPD Ireland welcomed French Senator Oliver Cadic to its Cork depot
this week where he awarded the depot for their exceptional sustainability efforts. The depot was
recently acknowledged for its commitment to sustainability and contribution to environmental
conservation.

Senator Cadic visited companies who are connected to France and who are making strides in
their industries. DPD Group’s parent company Geopost is headquartered in France.
Ken Duffy, owner of all three DPD Ireland depots in Cork, expressed his gratitude for the
recognition, saying, “We welcome Senator Cadic and appreciate the acknowledgement for our
sustainability efforts. The Green Flag award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of
our team. We take immense pride in our sustainability initiatives, which have become an integral
part of our operations. From energy-efficient lighting to waste management, every effort counts
in our journey towards a greener future.”
Under Ken’s leadership, the DPD Ireland Cork Depot has implemented a range of sustainability
measures. The depot boasts LED lighting to maximise energy efficiency and uses natural
lighting in the form of skylights to conserve energy. Most notably, the depot has integrated a
fleet of 23 electric vans, a significant stride towards reducing emissions and promoting cleaner
transportation.
French Senator Oliver Cadic said, “The Cork Depot is a cornerstone of the local community,
supporting over 140 employees and their families. It is imperative that companies undertake a
commitment to conserving our environment. The Cork depot is an example of what companies
should be doing and it gives me great pride to acknowledge it and present this award to Ken.”
Stephen Tummon, Sustainability Programme Manager at DPD Ireland, commended the Cork
team for their efforts. He stated, “DPD Ireland is committed to driving sustainability across all
aspects of our business. The Cork Depot is a shining example of what can be achieved through
dedication and innovation. The Green Flag, bestowed by Senator Oliver Cadic, is a testament to
the outstanding efforts of the Cork team in prioritising sustainability and reducing their
environmental footprint. We are proud to have them as a part of our network.”
In addition to its sustainability initiatives, the depot proudly sponsors the Old Christians RFC and
East Cork Basketball Team.
