Sabrina Boyd announced as Cork finalist in Right at Home’s Carer of the Year Awards
Sabrina Boyd has been announced as a regional winner and finalist in Right at Home’s Carer of the Year Awards 2022. The awards recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of Care Staff who play a significant role in their communities, enabling elderly people and people with disabilities to continue to live independent lives in the comfort of their own homes.
Presented by Right at Home, a provider of in-home care and assistance for seniors and adults; the awards were established in 2020 to shine a light on the heroic work of Carers. Nominations for Right at Home’s Carer of the Year finalists were submitted by those who they work closest with including clients, client’s families, co-workers, managers, and supervisors.
Sabrina will be one of six finalists who progress to a special awards ceremony in November where Right at Home’s National Carer of the Year 2022 will be crowned as they advance to the final stage of judging over the upcoming weeks.
Speaking about the awards, Cian O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Right at Home Cork said, “Our Carer of the Year awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work of Carers who play such an important role in the lives of so many people. No matter what, our wonderful team of Carers go above and beyond to ensure the highest level of care is provided to their clients, some of who are the most vulnerable people in society. For our clients, knowing that we have trusted Carers to support them is a wonderful source of comfort.”
“Sabrina is truly deserving of this award and has been an integral member of our team for the past four years. Sabrina is a former winner of Carer of the Year and her nominations once again from clients, their families and her colleagues is a testament to the amazing work Sabrina carries out on a daily basis. Sabrina is a wonderful people person and is passionate about helping and caring for others, always showing respect, empathy and reliability. Sabrina never fails to go above and beyond in support of her clients. From myself and the Right at Home team here in Cork, we wish Sabrina the very best of luck in the national final in November.”
Speaking about her award, Sabrina said, “I am delighted to receive this award and to fly the Cork flag at the national final in November. I will also be flying the flag for my amazing colleagues because without working together and supporting each other, none of what we do would be possible. I am privileged to work with wonderful clients, supporting them to live independent lives in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. We build much more than just a working relationship, we build a friendship and it is so rewarding to play a part in their journey.”
The national winner of Right at Home’s Carer of the Year will be announced at an awards ceremony in Dublin on November 11th where the winner will be unveiled.
