The organisers of the annual Cork Person of the Year Gala Awards Lunch have had to postpone the event due to the current Covid-19 environment. The event was due to take place on January 21st, 2022, and the deferred date will depend again on the state of the COVID19 environment.
Awards organiser, Manus O’Callaghan, said, “We will announce the new date for the awards lunch soon, and the awards function will take place at the Rochestown Park Hotel in the next few months, once we get clarity on the ever-changing Covid situation. On a different note, we are delighted to announce that Caitriona Perry, anchor of the RTÉ Six One News, will be our M.C on the day”
The winner of Cork Person/s of the Year for 2021 will be announced at the awards lunch on the newly selected date. The organisers will also be announcing the Hall of Fame winner and the person/s who will be conferred with the Honorary Corkperson award/s.
