Dairygold is has announced the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors after an election which took place on the 17th December 2021.
Michael J. Murphy, a dairy farmer, from Skehanagh, Ballinhassig, Co. Cork was elected to fill the ‘Mid Cork’ vacancy, replacing Richard Hinchion who has completed his maximum permitted consecutive service period on the Board.
Michael, representing the Ballinhassig Electoral Group, was initially elected to the Mid Cork Regional Committee in 1992, serving three terms and following a one-term break, was re-elected in 2013.
Michael has been a Member of the General Committee since 2019. He also served on the Rules Review Sub Committee in 2004 and again in 2019-2021.
Michael is married to Anna and they have 3 children – Peter, Christopher and Alice.
Michael is a former member of the IFA National Dairy Committee.
Michael and his brother John were the Dairygold Mid Cork Regional Milk Quality Award Winners for 2020.
