Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley was joined by the Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Tim Lucey, to welcome Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath to Cork County Hall. The last time McGrath was in County Hall he was only a TD, and indeed prior to that he was a Cllr.
Speaking of the visit, Mayor Linehan Foley said;
“I was delighted to welcome Minister McGrath back to Cork County Hall, where he spent a number of years representing the Carrigaline area as a Councillor before his election to Dáil Éireann in 2007.
I was also pleased to have had the opportunity to discuss several important projects with the Minister. The Midleton Youghal Greenway, a traffic plan for Castlemartyr and assistance for our rate payers were all high on the agenda.
The importance of a collaborative approach with national, regional and local government working in partnership to strengthen our economic and social recovery cannot be underestimated. I look forward to working together with Minister McGrath on behalf of the people of Cork County”.
