Mens Shed Table Quiz
Carrigaline Men’s Shed fourth annual quiz will be held this Saturday January 18th at 8.00pm in the Carrigaline GAA Pavilion. Tables of four €40. Good prizes, great fun. Enquiries Martin Parfrey 087 161 1876.
Pipe Band
The Carrigaline Pipe Band hold their annual Cork City Flag Day on Saturday next. The popular Pipe Band in its’ 74thyear will be collecting at Douglas Court and Wilton shopping Centres. The Band continues to practice every Monday and Thursday in the Band Hall at 7.00pm. New members welcome contact Paddy O’Connell 087 968 5833.
Over 60s
The Carrigaline heat of the 2020 Over 60s talent competition takes place in the Carrigaline Court Hotel on Friday March 13th at 8.00pm. This is the 44th year of the Over 60s talent competition.. Enquiries Paddy O’Brien 086 810 5585 or Kevin Meaney 087 943 0600.
Comhaltas
Comhaltas na Dúglaise have a busy schedule of activities in the weeks ahead. Music and singing classes are back in full swing every Wednesday evening in Gaelscoil na Dúglaise from 5.00pm. Classes for beginners tin whistle, bodhrán, accordion and teenage and adult traditional singing are available at the moment. Last Sunday branch members played and sang at Masses in Blackrock and Carrigaline and in the afternoon a group entertained the residents of St Elizabeth’s ward in St Finbarr’s hospital. Climate Change
Carrigaline Community Association are hosting a public information night with a line-up of speakers from local and national environmental groups on Monday January 27th at 7.30pm in the Community Complex. All welcome.
Ballygarvan Open Meeting
Ballygarvan residents are looking to improve the appearance of their village with a possibility of entering Tidy Towns. On Sunday February 9th following 10.00am Mass there will be an open meeting and an opportunity for all to voice their opinions and ideas on improving Ballygarvan as a community. All ages are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
