Permanent TSB will be launching a banking kiosk in Mahon Point Shopping Centre from next week. The kiosk will run for three months, from today until Monday 3 February 2020.
While Permanent TSB have previously done one-day promotions in shopping centres, this is their first time taking on a more permanent pop-up style kiosk. The kiosk will be located on the mall outside Tiger and will operate in line with the centres opening hours, including late night on Thursday and Friday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday and bank holidays. Customers will be able to avail of the following services; mortgages, term loans, current accounts, savings and investments, home insurance and SME.
The letting was secured by Savills Marketing Commercialisation and Research (SMCR) – a division established by Savills to add value for landlords of retail property by identifying opportunities to generate additional income streams outside of their usual rental income.
Traditionally pop up shops were seasonal, with kiosks opening to target Christmas shoppers or host Halloween flash sales. However, increasingly pop up stores are being used by larger brands as a more informal way to reach their customer base.
Declan O’Brien of Savills commented;
“We are seeing an increasing trend in retailers both existing and new wanting to use pop up shops, finding they perform very well in terms of generating brand awareness, reaching new audiences and testing new products. Pop ups enhance the tenant mix within shopping centres creating a buzz and bringing something new to the customer”.
