Tánaiste Simon Coveney to open constituency office of Senator Colm Burke in Blackpool, Cork
Tánaiste Simon Coveney, TD will officially open the office of Senator and Fine Gael bye-election candidate for Cork North Central, Colm Burke, this Friday the 18th at 12pm. The office will be located in the old post office (which closed in recent years when services moved to a nearby Shopping Centre)
“At the time when I served as Chairman of the Board of Directors there were over 30 people employed under the Community Employment Scheme, providing help and support for the many voluntary organisations using the centre.
“I have also served as Chairperson of Blackpool, Glen and Farranree Training Centre which is a facility with full time staff and provides support and training to young people who have dropped out of school. I served on the Board of this organisation for over 10 years.
“The constituency itself stretches from the Cork University Hospital to within 2 miles of Mallow town. The office is located where there is easy access both for urban and rural dwellers.”
