National Lottery Confirms That Contact Has Been Made by €5.3 Million Jackpot Winner
The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticketholder of last Saturday night’s €5,325,592 Lotto Jackpot ticket sold in Innishannon, Co. Cork has made contact.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw (Saturday 21st September) at the Centra store on the Main Street, Innishannon, Co. Cork.
This latest win in the Rebel County is the 7th Lotto jackpot winner of 2019 and the 175th Lotto jackpot to be won in Cork in the history of the game. These lucky Cork jackpot winners have shared more than €263 million between them, since 1988.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we have been contacted this morning by the lucky ticketholder and arrangements are currently being made for the claim to be made when the winner is ready to collect their prize in the coming weeks.”
Meanwhile, tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot has rolled to a mind-blowing €190 million (guaranteed), meaning if there is an Irish jackpot winner tonight, it will be the highest National Lottery winner in its 32 year history.
The spokesperson continued: “The current EuroMillions jackpot has been rolling since the 23rd July and tonight’s draw will be subject to a maximum jackpot cap. In the history of the game, this is only the fourth time that the jackpot will reach the cap of €190 million. Let’s hope we will be celebrating an Irish winner of this mega jackpot which would be a record National Lottery prize won in Ireland.”
Under the EuroMillions community rules, when the EuroMillions jackpot rolls to €190 million, then the jackpot is capped at that massive amount and any excess which would normally be allocated to the jackpot will flow down to the next prize tier at which there are winners.
Thereafter, if the jackpot is not won at the cap of €190 million, it will remain capped at €190 million for up to a further four draws, with any excess jackpot value at each draw flowing down to the next prize tier with a winner. If the jackpot is still not won after the fifth draw at the cap, the full value of the jackpot will flow down to the next tier with a prize winner.
