Every day as you move through Cork City, you will cross the River Lee at least once. To do so, you will use one of the 30+ bridges that are dotted along the river that runs through our city. But have you ever thought about the arch beneath your feet? The history of Cork’s Bridges is the history of Cork City.
With the support of Cork City Council and The Heritage Plan, LifeFM is airing Bridge to the Past, a five-part documentary series on Cork’s bridges during Heritage Week. Featuring stories, sounds of the city and interviews with local historian Tom Spalding, you never think of your city in the same way again.
This program will play every day on 93.1 LifeFM from Monday the 19th of August to Friday the 23rd of August at 8.40am, 1.20pm and 4.20pm. In addition, the LifeFM studios will be open to visitors from 9.30 to 12 for anyone curious about how a community radio station works.
LifeFM have a strong history in producing compelling content including The West Cork Ten, Across the Ocean in 18 Days: A True Adventure, Word Power and Magic Tales of Cork, all of which were aired on Cork’s 93.1 LifeFM.
This project is supported by Cork City Council and The Heritage Plan program.
