Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister for Older People, Jim Daly, is encouraging locals to attend the upcoming open night for the Dunmanway housing project.
Speaking ahead of the open night Minister Daly said, “Over the last number of months I have worked closely with Dunmanway Family Resource Centre, Cork County Council, Clúid Housing and the HSE, to develop a housing model for older people in the Dunmanway area, that will act as a pilot, making Dunmanway a national example in the future service needed for older people.”
The open night will give people in the Dunmanway area a chance to see first hand the drafts of the proposed housing units and community centre. It will also give the attendees a chance to provide feedback into what services they would like to see in the community centre.
There will also be representatives from Cork County Council and Clúid housing at the open night providing a presentation on the work done to date on the project.
Concluding Minister Daly said, “I would encourage those living in Dunmanway and surrounding areas, as well as representatives from community groups to attend this information evening and give their feedback on the proposed project for the area.”
It is expected that a design brief will be completed by September with a planning application lodged before the end of the year.
The open night will take place on July 18th at 7pm in the Dunmanway Park Hotel.
