Cork North West TD, and Agriculture Minister, Michael Creed TD has today (Friday) welcomed confirmation of the publication of tender documents for the construction contract for the N22 Macroom-Baile Bhuirne bypass scheme. The documents are to be published on eTenders the Government’s electronic tendering platform administered by the Office of Government Procurement.

Commenting on the publication the Minister said: “the publication of the tender for the N22 Macroom-Baile Bhuirne bypass marks one of the final steps before the commencement of the construction phase of this crucial project for the South West Region. The news that the scheme has finally moved to tender for the construction of the bypass will be warmly received by commuters and residents in the area.”
“This is one of the priority projects under Project Ireland 2040 and every effort is being made to ensure this critical piece of infrastructure is commenced and completed at the nearest possible opportunity. I commend the work of TII, the Department of Transport and Cork County Council in bringing the project to this stage.”
