Some 344,000 readers of Travel + Leisure magazine in India have been reading all about West Cork. The October edition of the hugely popular travel magazine includes an article profiling this part of Ireland and some of the many things to see and do here.
Tourism Ireland in India, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, invited journalist Aparna Pednekar to visit Ireland in June. The resulting article appears under the headline “Taste the Irish Way of Life” and tells readers that “with whale watching, whiskey tasting and island hopping, the region offers a chance to savour the good life”. The article includes lovely images of Bantry Bay and Sherkin Island.
“We are delighted with the excellent coverage in Travel + Leisure magazine. It’s a great way of showcasing West Cork and the Wild Atlantic Way to a large audience of potential Indian visitors – helping us to spread the word about what makes a holiday in Ireland so memorable,” said Beena Menon, Tourism Ireland India. “Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Indian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday on the island of Ireland.”
In 2017, we welcomed around 38,000 visitors from India to the island of Ireland, according to Tourism Ireland.
