Cork City Council has been contacted by SIPTU to say their members have accepted the proposals brokered between council management and union representatives at a conciliation conference, under the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commssion (WRC), last Friday.
The Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Mick Finn welcomed the confirmation. “I am glad to see that an agreement has been reached. The Fire Service provide a much-valued service to our communities. I would also like to thank the Workplace Relations Commission for coming on board to help find a solution agreeable to both sides.”.
The conciliation conference took place following a request by City Hall management to the WRC earlier this week to expedite the process.
